Baltimore is opgericht eind 2014 in de kelder van de drie broers Verlaak. In 2015 en 2017 brachten ze twee EP's uit in eigen beheer. Met hun psychedelisch overgoten poppy garagerock schopten ze het twee keer in De Nieuwe Lichting (2016 en 2017) van Studio Brussel. Baltimore combineert hun liefde voor de psychedelic sixties met een hedendaagse sound en productie. De muziek schijnt rust uit, maar onder dit psychedelische jasje ligt een soort opgekropte woede verborgen. Woede die geuit wordt via dreunende drums en drijvende gitaarsolo’s.

Anno 2017 denk je bij zo’n beschrijving uiteraard onmiddellijk aan Tame Impala of The War On Drugs, en daar hebben de jongens van Baltimore zeker een deel van de mosterd gehaald."

"Baltimore heeft goed naar de Nuggetsverzamelaars, Bed Rugs en de vroege Flaming Lips geluisterd en daarbij hun popsongs rijkelijk overgoten met een dosis psychedelische ruis, wat heel aanstekelijke maar tegelijk ook tegendraadse liedjes als het beukende "Hippo Highway" oplevert. "She Believed", gekenmerkt door een meeslepende gitaarlijn, heeft dan weer een heerlijk zweverig geluid dat het nummer enkele mijlen boven de stratosfeer brengt. "Bumblebees" op zijn beurt is zeer goed opgebouwd en combineert een stevig in zijn schoenen staande ritmesectie met een jachtige gitaarlijntje. Soms heeft een mens niet meer nodig om zijn indian summer van een soundtrack te voorzien."

"What Event Horizon does best is blending a variety of vibrant melodies to create chromatic atmospheres throughout the music. In nearly every track, you are guaranteed to hear multiple guitar lines, blending together various riffs and chords into a build up of harmonic sound. The first track of the EP, “Glow Deep”, plays with dynamics brilliantly, layering on guitar, drums, vocals, and synths to a climactic chorus. The verses, however, take on a softer tone that isolates the vocals, as if inviting you to listen more closely. This quickly gives way to a cascade of sound in each chorus, alternating between anticipation and energetic release. Through catchy melodies and captivating vocals, the Event Horizon EP far from disappoints, making Baltimore one of the most enjoyable breakout bands I have had the pleasure of discovering this year."
