Giv3n isn't your average masked rap artist based in London. Roots stemming from Zimbabwean nobility as well as spending time in his childhood before moving to the UK. Stylistically his music draws from eclectic influences that he absorbed growing up such as Jazz, Funka and Gospel from his parents (check out Purple Panther by him to see Jazz Rap executed superbly) and experimental hip hop which he discovered in his later teen years like the sonic landscapes of MF DOOM and DOOM’s select collaborators plus the rugged rap stylings of other East Coast greats like Wu Tang Clan and Big L. On top of this also Implemented into his musical presence are the unfiltered yet poetic tendencies of G-Funk and West Coast rap from the likes of N.W.A
- Giv3n holds his inspirations close to his heart- while producing then rapping and mixing/mastering on his often sample based original creations from his home studio - But he projects aspects of these influences with a nuance that makes the Giv3n listening experience like nothing you’ve ever heard
